Progressive exposure is a deployment strategy in which the number of users that have access to a new deployment or a new feature is slowly increased over time. The goal of this strategy is to limit the number of users that are experiencing issues when a faulty release of a feature is made available.
We can also look at this more positively and in line with the continuous deployment way of thinking: exposing a new feature to only a few users at first and increasing that number over time allows us to increase the amount of trust in a new version or feature of an application before exposing it to all users.
