The main advantage of GoogLeNet is that it is more accurate than VGG, while using much fewer parameters and less compute power. The main disadvantage is still the gradient vanishing that would occur if we begin stacking lots and lots of inception layers, and also the rather complicated design of the whole network with multiple branches and losses.
