Part I. Introduction

This first part of the book introduces Eclipse as a rich client platform—the Eclipse RCP. Chapter 1 outlines the notion of “rich client platforms” and the origins of the Eclipse RCP and illustrates its use with some real-world examples. Chapter 2 gives an overview of Eclipse concepts, terminology, and architecture to ensure that all readers have a common understanding.
