In this action-packed chapter, we worked through several ways of accessing and sharing files within a Linux-based network. We started off discussing NFS, which is an old but trusty method of sharing files within a Linux and UNIX network. We also covered Samba, a method of sharing resources within a mixed operating system environment. We also discussed how to mount such shares manually as well as automatically. We finished our discussion with SSHFS, which is a quite handy (yet not well-known) feature of SSH that allows us to mount directories from other systems on-demand.

Of course, with relying on our networked resources in our network, it's important to keep each node running in tip top shape. In the next chapter, we'll work through monitoring system resources and keeping our nodes happy and healthy.
