Requirements
This chapter describes the hardware and software requirements to support the 4-site replication solution with IBM Copy Services Manager and includes the following topics:
2.1 Hardware requirements
The 4-site replication can be implemented for z/OS environments and distributed system environments on the IBM DS8000 storage platform. The following requirements must be met:
•CSM server
The CSM server can be deployed on any of the following operating system platforms:
– z/OS
– IBM AIX®
– Linux x86-64
– Linux s390
– Linux on IBM PowerPC®
– Windows 7 or higher
– DS8000 HMCs
The minimum hardware requirements are 1 GB of free disk space and 1280 MB of usable memory. For more information, see IBM Knowledge Center or IBM Support’s Supported Platforms and Browsers for IBM Copy Services Manager 6.2.x web page.
•Storage hardware and firmware
For Multi-Target PPRC support, all storage systems in the solution must be at least an IBM DS8870 with firmware bundle release 7.4 or higher.
The following Feature Codes (FCs) must be installed:
– FC 0745: 242x-961 Indicator for MT-PPRC
– FC 7025: 239x-LFA Indicator (not capacity-dependent) for MT-PPRC
– Pre-requisites: Feature Codes for Metro Mirror, Global Mirror, and Metro Global Mirror
2.2 Software requirements
The 4-site solution includes the following software requirements:
•CSM software
CSM must be at version 6.2.3 or higher.
•z/OS HyperSwap
