About the author

Dee Walker has been recruiting for over 30 years. Having worked in Human Resources she decided to specialise in the recruitment sector and has made hiring decisions for her employers, clients and her own business and, throughout her career, has successfully trained new interviewers.

For 15 years Dee was a Director of Hudson Walker International Ltd., which she set up with a business partner in the recession of the early nineties. The company works with both UK and international clients (www.hudsonwalker.com). She moved into commercial recruiting from Harrods where she had been Recruitment Manager.

She has interviewed at all levels from office juniors through to managing directors and across all categories from carpenters to chefs, marketeers to merchandisers, logistics to legal staff and everything in between.

Having worked with line managers, she understands the problems they can have when faced with interviewing – lack of training and experience in this area combined with a demanding schedule often puts recruiting at the bottom of their priorities. It was to help these managers and the growing number of owner drivers that she has written this book.
