I have always wanted to write a book since I was 12 years old and always had thought my first book would be fiction! Forty years later, I have ­written a business book focused on my trade and experience—public relations (PR)—and I could not be prouder. I have written this book in an easy style, demystifying the world of PR and media, making it a book for everyone irrespective where you may be in the world—whether you are a student starting out in this industry or a business, “homepreneur,” mumpreneur, charity, start-up, or any other type of organization wanting to embark on your PR journey or just plain curious about what it entails.

When you work for yourself, you have to learn many different skills to survive. PR, social media, and marketing are probably the most important ones of all. Over the years, people have always asked me what is PR, and what does it actually do? What does it mean?
