In this hour, you will

• Turn a UNIX shell script into a Windows application

• Learn about MachTen

There are two facets of adding a UNIX environment to an existing OS: how much of UNIX is included, and how well the UNIX system interacts with the existing OS on the computer. The MKS Toolkit is the simpler of the two packages, essentially adding many kinds of UNIX commands to the existing DOS shell in Windows. MachTen, by contrast, actually adds an entire UNIX operating system as an application within MacOS. Each of these packages offers some great values, as you'll see.
