Why Adopt the EUP?

If your organization has adopted, or is thinking of adopting, the RUP and it wants to also include effective enterprise architecture efforts, it needs to look at the entire system life cycle. The EUP does this, and the RUP clearly does not. In this situation, the primary advantage of the EUP is that it explicitly includes enterprise-scope efforts in the project life cycle, making it clear to developers that they need to think beyond the confines of their current project and to take enterprise issues into account.
