• Cisco Discovery Protocol

• Name service

Chapters in Part 2 of this book examine specific MIB and syslog messages, as well as CLI messages, for a variety of network management tasks. Before delving into those specifics, however, one more bit of background is needed. Chapter 9, “Selecting the Tools,” discusses how to select tools to manage your network.
