You can display any web page on the Internet that you have heard or read about.
There are many ways that you can work with web pages in Internet Explorer. For example, when viewing a web page, you can select a link to display related information.
Yes. If you have trouble reading small text on a web page, you can enlarge a web page. At the top right of the Internet Explorer window, click Tools and click Zoom from the resulting menu. Click the zoom percentage you want to use.
Additionally, if your mouse has a scroll wheel, you can hold down the key and scroll the mouse wheel forward to zoom in on the web page, or hold down the key and scroll the mouse wheel backward to zoom out on the web page.
Finally, some web pages include controls on the page that allow you to make the print larger or smaller.
When browsing the web, you can use tabs to view and work with more than one web page at a time within the Internet Explorer window.
What happens if I have several tabs open when I close Internet Explorer?
If you have several tabs open when you click to close Internet Explorer, a dialog box appears asking if you want to close all the tabs or just the current tab. To close all the tabs and close Internet Explorer, click Close all tabs. To close only the currently displayed tab and leave Internet Explorer open, click Close current tab.
Can I click a link on a page and have the link open in a new tab?

You can produce a paper copy of a web page displayed on your screen. Before printing a web page, you can preview how the web page will look when printed.
Why does the text on a web page appear so small when it prints?
When you print a web page, Internet Explorer shrinks the content of the web page to fit across a piece of paper. This prevents the right side of a web page from being cut off, but it may make the text smaller and more difficult to read. To print the content of a web page at a larger size, you can click in the toolbar at the top of the Print Preview window to change to the landscape orientation. Doing so prints the content of a web page across the longer side of your paper.
Note: If you want to return to the portrait orientation, click in the Print Preview window.
Can I print only specific pages of a web page?
Yes. After previewing how a web page will print, you may want to print only specific pages. The Print dialog box displays options you can select for printing the web page. Double-click the number beside Pages and then type the pages you want to print, such as 1 or 2–4.
You can search for web pages that discuss topics of interest to you.
What are search providers, and how do they work?
A search provider is a complex software program that searches for sites based on the words that you designate as search terms. They include incredibly detailed processes and methodologies, and they are updated all the time.
Search providers have three main functions. The first is to crawl around through the millions of web pages on the Internet, looking for the information in the web pages. Next, the search provider sorts and stores, or indexes, the information it finds and stores it in its database for the time someone needs that information. Finally, when you search for something, the search providers look through (search) their own databases of information to find what it is that you are looking for.
Most search providers are general in the information they search for, but others are more specialized, focusing on specific topics such as images, jobs, blogs, and so forth.
When you start Internet Explorer, the first page that appears is called your home page. Windows 8 automatically goes to www.msn.com, but you can change your home page if you want something else to come up instead.
Which web page should I set as a home page?
