ABOUT THE AUTHORS

David Pilbeam specialises in leadership and performance coaching for individuals and teams. His experience in running businesses and educating leaders enables him to help people to build on their strengths and achieve on-going success. David’s style has been described as challenging, motivating and pragmatic. He uses a performance and strengths focussed approach in his work. David is a also coaching supervisor and author.

He has an MA in Coaching and Mentoring Practice, is a Member of the Association for Coaching and the Institute of Coaching, a Master Practitioner in The Leadership Challenge and a Cognitive Processing Profile Accredited Practitioner.

He has 17 years’ experience in one-to-one and team coaching, leadership development, coach development and delivering organisational change projects. He has a strong business background having held a number of management roles and worked as an Operations Director in the Leisure Sector. This includes being part of a four person executive team that founded a national business in 1993 and sold for profit in 1999.

He has lived and worked in Asia, Africa and Portugal over a 12 year period and has worked on projects that span across a number of different cultures and nationalities.

Dr Glenn Wallis is Principal at Glenn P Wallis, a boutique coaching consultancy based in London, UK. He is one of the very few people in the world to hold a Doctorate in Coaching and Mentoring. Glenn helps executives and senior leaders develop the introspective skills, advanced thinking and mental resilience required, leading to professional development and enduring outcomes. Glenn is a keynote speaker and author.

As well as his doctorate, Glenn has a Masters in Coaching and Mentoring Practice, is an Associate of the Institute for Coaching, based at Harvard University Medical School, and an active Fellow of the RSA (Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce).

Glenn believes passionately in the empirical and professional application of coaching, as distinct from mentoring and other forms of senior leadership support. His work is underpinned by a substantial academic base, as well as nearly 20 years of practical experience working with leaders at all levels within organisations.

Additionally, Glenn’s intellectual curiosity and desire to ‘democratise coaching’ have seen him investigate and develop several methodologies and technology-based tools for virtual coaching.

When not working, Glenn lives with his wife in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. He can often be found running along the Thames towpath on Sunday mornings.
