ABOUT THE CONTRIBUTORS

Matthew P. Breuer, JD

Matthew P. Breuer is an associate at Cendrowski Corporate Advisors in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He provides consulting and advisory services to clients in the legal, private equity banking, corporate, and nonprofit industries.

Prior to joining the firm, he served as a clerk to the Honorable Judge Lisa Gorcyca. He is a member of the Michigan State Bar Association and Oakland County Bar Association. He received his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and his law degree from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, Michigan. He currently serves on the Executive Counsel of the Young Lawyers Section of the State Bar of Michigan, and is a member of the American Bar Association Business Law Section.

He has authored articles appearing in Smart Business Chicago, The Value Examiner, and other publications. In addition, he was a contributor to The Handbook of Fraud Deterrence and Private Equity: History, Governance, and Operations, both published by John Wiley and Sons.

Deirdre Fox

Deirdre A. Fox is counsel at Scharf Banks Marmor LLC in Chicago. She concentrates her practice in commercial disputes, intellectual property and restrictive covenants, and product liability. She lectures on developing social media and data privacy issues. A former partner of Kirkland & Ellis, Ms. Fox is a graduate of Northwestern University, the School of the Art Institute, and University of Chicago Law School.

Virginia Kim

Virginia Kim is an Associate at Scharf Banks Marmor LLC. She concentrates her practice in employment litigation and counseling, class action, pharmaceutical defense, toxic tort, product liability, franchise and trademark enforcement, and commercial disputes. She earned her AB (History, Philosophy, and Social Studies of Science and Medicine) and JD degrees from the University of Chicago.

Sarah Marmor

Sarah R. Marmor is a founding partner of Scharf Banks Marmor LLC in Chicago. She concentrates her practice in employment law, commercial disputes, and product liability litigation. She has developed a particular interest in social media law, and has lectured throughout the United States on this developing subject. A former partner of Kirkland & Ellis and Jenner & Block, Ms. Marmor is a graduate of Princeton University and Northwestern University School of Law.

Christopher Thieda

Christopher Thieda is a business technology analyst specializing in evaluating and improving technology environments and processes. He has spent his career working in the information security industry and has experience relating to data protection, assurance, and compliance. He has a particular interest in emerging technologies and privacy issues.

He has a bachelor of science degree in finance from the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University, where he participated in the Broad College Student Senate and was a member of the College Capital Committee.
