In this part ...
Meet your new electronic senses! This part is a tutorial on how to use basic electronic testing instruments to make everyday measurements. You'll learn how to use a multimeter (a combination volt-ohm-current meter) for testing and checking out your circuits. Along with measuring your circuits, you have to supply them with power, too, so you'll learn to use the workbench power supply. And where do all these neat signals come from? Meet the function generator!
The last portion of this part builds on those simple measurements. Voltage, current, and resistance are all linked together by Ohm's Law, so we demystify this simple-but-powerful relationship. You also get a good working sense of the frequency and period of AC signals. With that information safely stored between your ears, you can then use decibels and measure frequency response — all this from a few simple measurements!
