James A. Pope
Professor Pope is a guest professor at the Baden-Würtemburg Cooperative State University in Mosbach, Germany. Over a 45-year career—40 in academia and 5 as a U.S. Air Force logistics officer—he held full-time academic positions at Guilford College in North Carolina, Old Dominion University in Virginia, Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, the European Business School in Germany, and the University of Toledo in Ohio. He has also been a guest at the University of Colorado in Denver; the University of North Carolina; North Carolina A&T University; the Technical University of Munich; Leiden University in the Netherlands; the University of Regensburg in Germany; and PSGIM in Coimbatore, India. He holds a PhD in business administration from the University of North Carolina and degrees in economics from Northwestern University and the College of Wooster in Ohio. He has done consulting and writing in a variety of operations areas, including inventory management, logistics, scheduling, quality, and supply chain management. Dr. Pope is the coauthor of Ocean Container Transportation: An Operational Perspective. He is APICS certified (CFPIM and CSCP) and has taught APICS certification review courses for 30 years.
