As shown in FIGURE 18-1, a cloud-based solution must reside on a server that resides in the cloud, meaning, a server connected to the Internet.
Using a web browser, users, as shown in FIGURE 18-2, access the cloud solution, just as they would any website.
When developers create the program code for their solutions, they normally create and edit the program’s source code, the file that contains the program’s instructions, on their own computer and then use an FTP, the File Transfer Protocol, application to upload the code to the cloud server, as shown in FIGURE 18-3, so users can access the solution.
Developers can create cloud applications using a wide range of programming languages, such as HTML, Python, PHP, and C#.
