You have learned that the three primary cloud deployment models are Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). Throughout this text you will examine other “as-a-service” offerings, such as Database as a Service (DBaas), Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS), Call Center as a Service (CCaaS), Identification as a Service (IDaaS), and more. When you encounter an “as-a-service” solution, you should think of a cloud-based service for which the cloud-service provider supplies the underlying resources and administers the underlying software.
