IN THIS CHAPTER
As you develop Web applications, you typically discover that each page has a core central element that changes, and is surrounded by relatively static elements such as the header, footer, and perhaps a side menu.
The Tiles taglib enables you to create a page template that you can use through your application, and which also enables you to define this structure in terms of a master XML template.
This chapter shows one possible way you could use Tiles to simplify your site design, but it isn’t intended to be a complete guide to the library itself. For that, you should take a look at the API guide on the Jakarta Web site.
